Our systems improvement efforts focus on advocating for and implementing changes that benefit the child welfare system. At the same time, we provide essential support to transitioning youth by connecting them to vital community resources.
Our Story
Founded in 2014, Change 1 emerged from the personal experiences of Cortney Jones, who aged out of the foster care system into homelessness. With a deep understanding of the challenges faced by foster youth, Cortney dedicated herself to creating an organization that would make a tangible difference. Officially becoming a 501(c)(3) in 2017, Change 1 has grown to advocate for youth, engage communities, and partner with systems to co-create solutions that ensure every young person has the opportunity to reach their full potential.
