Homeless Diversion

Change 1 is thrilled to announce the enhancement of its Homeless Diversion Program, made possible by a grant from the Wood Foundation, administered through the Ending Community Homelessness Coalition (ECHO). This significant funding will enable Change 1 to provide immediate and safe housing alternatives for youth aging out of foster care, helping them avoid homelessness. The program will offer financial assistance for rent, utilities, and other essential needs, along with access to vital community services, employment opportunities, and educational resources. This comprehensive support aims to ensure that these young adults can achieve stability and independence as they transition to adulthood.

Bus Passes
Temporary Hotel Stays
Grocery Gift Cards
Criminal Background Checks
Move-In or Moving Costs
Apartment Application Fees
Employment Supports (work boots, uniforms, certification, license fees)
Bus Tickets with housing confirmed at the destination
Money Orders for identifying documents (birth certificates, government-issued ID cards, and criminal background checks)
