The Summer Camp for Foster Care Alumni is a meaningful experience designed to support healing, connection, and joy and volunteers are a key part of making that happen. We are looking for individuals who are willing to serve, support activities, assist with meals, and help create a welcoming and safe environment for all participants. This is hands-on, heart-centered work. The kind that reminds people they matter—without needing a speech to prove it. If you’re someone who can show up, be present, and serve with care, we want you on this team.

The Fueling Futures: A Taste of Hope Gala is a powerful evening centered on community, connection, and impact and it takes a dedicated team to make it happen. We are looking for volunteers who are ready to serve with excellence, support event operations, and help create a welcoming and meaningful experience for every guest.

Whether you’re assisting with guest check-in, supporting vendors, guiding attendees, or helping behind the scenes, your role matters. This is more than volunteering this is showing up for young people who deserve support, stability, and opportunity.

Secretary

The Secretary serves as the Board’s governance and communication anchor, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and organization in all Board proceedings and official records. This role supports the Board in fulfilling its fiduciary and operational responsibilities through strong documentation and coordination.

Treasurer

The Treasurer serves as the Board’s financial steward, ensuring fiscal responsibility and transparency in support of Change 1’s mission. This role oversees the organization’s financial health and provides strategic guidance for sustainability and growth.

Change1 is always looking for volunteers who understand young people need a second chance. Youths can’t pull themselves up by their bootstraps;. They need compassionate support.

We have opportunities to put your skills to work on

Mentorship
Board Development
Programs
Policy
Fundraising
Communication and publicity skills for social media
Setup or serving at events, or
Just have fun with the kids.

If you like working with youth, are willing to learn about child welfare in a nonjudgmental way, and have time to give, we can work with that.

We love creative, self-starters who can take ownership of projects. There’s so much to do!

If Holiday caring is your thing, we provide fellowship to show foster youths someone cares at Thanksgiving.

There’s an overrepresentation of children of color in foster care, often placed with families who don’t look like them. Taken from my culture and traditions, I remember not feeling thankful. I never want a child to go through Thanksgiving without feeling thankful that someone cares. We make a big deal of the Holiday and ask the children what they want, what brings them joy, creating personal care kits for all the children we can reach.
